Personality:
He’s a very caring person and would do anything to help people in need. He isn't too bright and is dense, but he makes up for it in his platonic love for others. There can be a stubborn streak in him, especially when protecting people, but sometimes it can be for little things too. Taking on the day with a smile is always his go to.
Appearance:
His body is well toned and lightly covered in scars from his recklessness in fights, most are badly faded since he had to take care of them on the seas. Shirts are almost always sleeveless or a variant of with long gloves and long boots to match. You can never catch him walking around without his lucky choker.

Backstory:
Born like any other Viera Hu grew up in the Black Shroud and was raised in a tribe that was settled there. It wasn't until a couple years after his of-age ceremony happened the tribe got attacked by voidsent. Things escalated quickly with the monsters and it led to part of the Shroud catching on fire and multiple lives lost. In the chaos Hu'bai got lost and drifted away from his tribe unknowingly.
Hu was later found by a roe woman (Rebutia) in the woods, wounded and starving. She instantly brought him in and took care of the child. As she was only visiting a dear friend she brought him along with her on the seas. Going from a landlocked little boy to a "mighty" seafaring lad, he was always mystified by the adventures him and his new family would have.
After long months at sea and many years of watery adventures his mother decided to settle down properly in Limsa, where their home now rests. He joined her shortly after their last trip and keeps her company whenever he isn't finding mercenary work. Though this work later turned into a heralding adventure as he joined the Scions, later even traveling to another world as the Warrior of Light and Darkness.
Sometimes he still craves the open sea and mist filled mornings, but for now protecting people on land and from otherworldly beings is a must.
